Overview Join our dynamic diesel team as a Service Writer, where your enthusiasm for heavy duty equipment and exceptional customer service skills will drive success! In this vital role, you'll serve as the communication bridge between our valued clients and our skilled technicians. Your expertise in diesel diagnostics, repair processes, and estimating software will ensure every customer receives transparent, accurate information about their vehicle's needs. Duties Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their vehicle or equipment concerns, and accurately document service requests. Prepare detailed repair orders using heavy duty estimating software, ensuring clarity and transparency for clients. Collaborate closely with technicians, parts, and owner to understand vehicle and equipment issues such as but not limited to engine and transmissions, brakes, suspension, alignments, tire services, shocks & struts, air brakes, and oil changes. Provide professional recommendations for upselling services like additional maintenance to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue. Communicate effectively with clients regarding vehicle diagnostics, repair progress, and estimated completion times. Manage invoicing processes accurately while maintaining detailed service records. Assist in promoting services through proactive client communication and sales efforts related to heavy duty sales and maintenance packages. Skills Proven experience as a Service Writer or in diesel service management within a dealership or repair shop environment. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy duty systems including transmissions, suspension, brakes, tires, oil changes, mechanical repairs. Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally. Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Familiarity with heavy duty diagnostics and repair procedures across various vehicle makes and models. Pay:
$50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
