JOB SUMMARY
Customer Service Representative Provides comprehensive customer-facing support. Handles inquiries, payments, filings, notices, complaints, scheduling, and public information while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to established legal and administrative procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Taxpayer Assistance :
Assist taxpayers at the counter or by phone with personal property and real estate filings; explain filing requirements and process waivers.
Data Entry and Research :
Enter and verify taxpayer and property data in multiple systems such as DOR, GIS, and JD Powers; correct errors as needed.
Mail Processing :
Open, sort, and process incoming mail; research taxpayer information before data entry and prepare outgoing mail.
Customer Communication :
Answer calls and emails regarding filings, assessments, and credits; direct inquiries to appropriate staff.
Assessment Support :
Assist with understanding property assessments and explain exemptions and senior tax credit programs.
Record Maintenance :
Maintain physical and electronic filing systems and ensure all correspondence is documented accurately.
Payment Handling :
Accept and receipt payments for fees or filings; balance batches and prepare daily reports.
Compliance Review :
Ensure records meet departmental and state requirements; report discrepancies or errors to supervisors.
Public Interaction :
Provide courteous and professional assistance to taxpayers and coordinate with other county departments.
Document Scanning :
Scan, label, and upload documents to secure databases; verify scan accuracy and filing integrity.
Administrative Support :
Provide general administrative and clerical assistance to department managers as assigned. The individual in this role is expected to contribute to the team's efforts by completing other related tasks, as may be assigned.
