Service Advisor

Service Advisor Our client is seeking a customer-focused Service Advisor to serve as the central point of coordination within a busy service department. This individual will guide each repair from intake through completion, ensuring clear communication between customers, technicians, and internal teams while delivering a high-quality service experience. This role is on-site in Jackson, Missouri. Service Advisor Responsibilities Act as the primary liaison between customers, technicians, parts, and service leadership to manage repairs from start to finish. Greet customers, gather detailed information on vehicle concerns, and document accurate repair descriptions during intake. Perform walk-around inspections at write-up, identifying and recording visible issues or customer-reported concerns. Proactively communicate with customers regarding repair status, timelines, costs, and any changes throughout the service process. Manage work-in-progress (WIP) within the service department, ensuring efficiency and timely completion of repairs. Coordinate with internal teams and external parties (e.g., insurance providers, dealerships) regarding approvals, payments, and participation. Provide clear guidance on service options, parts availability, warranty coverage, and potential cost-saving opportunities. Facilitate vehicle drop-off and pick-up processes while ensuring all service details and charges are accurately communicated. Maintain accurate documentation using internal systems and tools to support communication and service tracking. Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive satisfaction and repeat business. Service Advisor Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a service advisor, automotive service, or customer-facing coordination role. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across all levels. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to proactively communicate and anticipate customer needs rather than react to issues. Comfortable collaborating with technicians, parts teams, and leadership to ensure accurate and timely service delivery. Experience with service management or industry-specific software systems is preferred. Basic understanding of diesel or heavy-duty vehicle service is a plus, but not required. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with attention to detail.
