Client Services Specialist Meals on Wheels of Asheville & Buncombe County Asheville, NC Job Details Full-time From $45,000 a year 6 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Interpersonal skills Windows Driver's License Bachelor's degree Attention to detail Organizational skills Time management Full Job Description Client Services Specialist MISSION Meals on Wheels of Asheville and Buncombe County delivers nutritious meals and friendly visits to homebound seniors each weekday. Our meal delivery program provides vulnerable seniors with nutrition, companionship, and prolonged independence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Answer phone calls and assist clients with program-related questions and support.
  • Conduct intake assessments for new applicants, determine eligibility, communicate program details and requirements, and establish appropriate fees or subsidies for service.
  • Complete home visits and client assessments as needed.
  • Prepare and input documentation for the Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) to ensure accurate program enrollment.
  • Ensure HCCBG guidelines are met per grant requirements.
  • Oversee Pet Food Program and timely ordering of supplies.
  • Coordinate Pantry & Liquid Nutrition programs and maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Maintain accurate and current client records.
  • Manage waitlist.
  • Aid clients, including referrals to other needed services and programs.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with other related local agencies.
  • Provide daily support and assistance to meal delivery volunteers.
  • Assist with kitchen operations and meal delivery, upon request.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, preferably in a relevant human services field (or equivalent experience) Strong organizational skills, with close attention to details and excellent customer service skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Effective time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Strong analytical and data-gathering skills Strong interpersonal skills; ability to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds Capable of working independently and prioritizing work based on MOW's needs and priorities Proficient with Windows and Google platforms, including Word and Excel; familiarity with ServTracker software a plus. Must have a valid driver's license Full time (39 hour/week)
