Job Description

About Us:
We are not your standard repair shop. We are a premier, niche marine repair and diagnostics facility specializing in advanced electrical systems, custom fabrication, and high-end lithium battery conversions. Our team operates at the highest technical level, and our production is scaling rapidly. We are looking for a sharp, highly professional Service Writer to be the face of the business, manage our workflow, and keep our technicians moving. We do not have a lot of customer personal interaction. Most vessels we work on are in marinas and appointments and communication are usually done over the phone and email/text.
About you:
You will be the operational hub of the shop. Your primary goal is to take over the administrative and customer-facing duties from the owner, ensuring seamless communication between our clients and our technical staff. If you are highly organized, tech-savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced technical environment, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Work the
Front Desk:
Act as the first point of contact for all incoming calls and client inquiries. Maintain a highly professional and welcoming standard.
Software Management:
Master and oversee our primary operating system, Shopmonkey . You will use this to track all workflows, from initial intake to final dispatch.
Service Writing & Invoicing:
Translate technical diagnostics from our mechanics into clear, professional service reports and invoices for our clientele. Use of AI is an option so understanding of mechanical stories is not required.
Workflow Coordination:
Schedule client appointments, manage the shop calendar, and ensure technicians have the information they need to execute their work efficiently.
Parts Tracking:
Assist in sourcing, ordering, and tracking specialized marine and electrical components to ensure no delays in the service bays.
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience as a Service Writer in the marine or automotive industry is highly preferred. If no direct service writing experience, experience in administrative invoicing, dispatch, or technical customer service is a plus . Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organized with a meticulous eye. Proficient with modern shop management software (Shopmonkey experience is a massive advantage). This is completely trainable.
Compensation:
Pay structure to be discussed during the interview based on experience and capability.
Pay:
$10.00 - $25.00 per hour
