We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Service Writer / Insurance Relations Manager for a growing heavy collision and repair facility specializing in RVs, motorhomes, trucks, trailers, and campers. This is not an entry-level service writer position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of jobs from the initial customer or insurance contact through repair completion while serving as a key link between customers, insurance companies, adjusters, technicians, parts personnel, management, and ownership. This will be a high-level management position with significant responsibility for keeping jobs moving, maintaining strong insurance relationships, and helping grow the business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle insurance collision and repair claims from initial contact through completion. Communicate directly with insurance adjusters, representatives, claims departments, customers, and fleet/commercial accounts. Establish relationships with new insurance companies, adjusters, agents, and representatives to generate additional repair business. Maintain and strengthen existing insurance relationships. Follow up with insurance companies regarding estimates, approvals, supplements, payments, and claim status. Coordinate estimates, repair authorizations, supplements, parts, scheduling, and repair progress. Work closely with the service department, technicians, parts department, management, and ownership. Keep customers and insurance representatives informed throughout the repair process. Help ensure parts are ordered correctly and repairs stay on schedule. Identify delays or problems and take action to keep jobs moving. Maintain organized documentation and accurate repair/claim files. Assist management with workflow, scheduling, customer service, and overall shop operations. Help develop relationships with insurance companies, fleets, dealerships, RV dealers, and other potential referral sources. Represent the company professionally with customers, insurance companies, vendors, and business partners.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate has experience in collision repair, insurance claims, estimating, service writing, body shop management, or a related automotive/RV/truck repair environment.

Extremely organized and able to manage multiple large repair jobs at once. Experienced dealing with insurance companies and adjusters. Comfortable negotiating estimates and supplements. Professional and confident on the phone and in person. Excellent at customer communication and follow-up. Able to coordinate multiple departments and personalities. Capable of identifying problems before they become major delays. Motivated to develop new insurance and referral relationships. Comfortable working directly with management and ownership. Dependable, professional, and accountable. Interested in helping build and grow a serious collision-repair operation. Experienced with RV, motorhome, commercial truck, trailer, or heavy collision repair is strongly preferred. Experienced with collision estimating software and insurance estimating/claims systems is a major plus.
