Job Description
Position Summary This role supports the daily operations of a locally owned auto repair shop. The assistant helps keep the front office running smoothly by greeting customers, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling basic administrative tasks. It's a great fit for someone friendly, dependable, and confident navigating a computer while learning new systems with guidance. Key Responsibilities Welcome customers, answer phones, and schedule service appointments Maintain service records, invoices, and customer files Handle customer payments accurately and responsibly Assist with basic parts ordering and vendor communication (training provided) Relay messages between customers and technicians Keep the front office clean, organized, and presentable Occasionally pump gas for full‑service customers when needed Skills & Qualifications Strong computer navigation skills — must be comfortable moving between multiple programs, tabs, and screens throughout the day Ability to use email, scheduling tools, and web‑based systems confidently Comfortable learning automotive shop software and parts‑ordering platforms with training Familiarity with everyday office equipment (printer, copier, card reader, Wi‑Fi) Friendly, professional communication with customers and coworkers Organized, dependable, and able to multitask during busy times Prior customer service experience is helpful but not required Why This Role Is a Great Fit Be part of a small, family‑run business where your work truly matters Low‑stress, supportive environment — no corporate pressure Training provided for parts ordering and shop software Weekly hours range from 10-20 , with additional hours available for vacation coverage Some flexibility in scheduling, but required availability is 8:00 AM-5:30 PM and Saturdays 8:00 AM-12:00
