Job Description

Purpose:
The overall purpose of a Veterinary Client Services Associate at Two Rivers Veterinary Hospital is to closely & compassionately interact with clients and their 4-legged family members, perform duties related to veterinary care and treatment, process invoices and payments, and provide support to the veterinarians and other team members. This position requires practice knowledge of hospital organization and services, basic rules and regulations of animal patient treatment and practical knowledge of the standard procedures, veterinary records and terminology used in the hospital. The receptionist position is a very busy area of the practice so it is important to focus on the work at hand. Clients get their first impression of our clinic in the first few seconds they walk in the door.
Required:
Customer service experience Phone skills - answering incoming calls, make outgoing calls, using proper phone etiquette. Ability to operate a multiple-line telephone system Basic computer knowledge Learn and follow the hospital policies Strong ability to multitask Be comfortable dealing with all sorts of clients. This will at times include dealing with clients that are dealing with different emotions. Experience with animals - preferred Positive & Enthusiastic attitude

Client Communication Follow established hospital guidelines for communicating with clients in different types of situations such as general questions, scheduling appointments, routine and non-routine medical questions, patient emergencies, euthanasia, prescription refills, etc. Handle basic questions regarding hospital services, fees and patient care and treatment in with the hospital policies. Appropriately direct other questions to the veterinarians, office manager and/or other team member. Use effective listening skills to obtain necessary medical and personal information from the client. Concerns of any potential client problems, complaints and handle appropriately. Hospitality Welcome clients and patients to the practice as soon as they walk through the front door. Always have a happy face on when with the clients. Scheduling Use a computerized scheduling program to schedule out-patient, surgical and hospitalized patients.
