Job Description

The Service Advisor serves as the primary connection between our customers and the service department, ensuring every customer receives a professional, organized, and proactive service experience. This position is responsible for guiding customers through every stage of the service process, from scheduling appointments and writing repair orders to communicating repair recommendations and coordinating completed deliveries. Working closely with the Service Manager, technicians, and Parts Department, the Service Advisor helps ensure work flows efficiently while providing an exceptional customer experience. As our service department continues to grow, this position will play a key role in helping build the systems, processes, and customer experience that define Mark's Leisure Time Marine. Compensation This position offers a competitive weekly base pay plus performance-based commissions and warranty incentives. The advertised annual pay range reflects total earning potential and is not guaranteed base pay. Actual earnings will vary based on experience, performance, and overall department results. High-performing Service Advisors with dealership experience have the opportunity to maximize their earning potential through our performance-based compensation plan. Primary Responsibilities Customer Service & Communication Greet customers professionally and build lasting relationships Schedule service appointments Review customer concerns and accurately document repair requests Review service history and recommend preventative maintenance when appropriate Keep customers informed throughout the repair process Explain repair recommendations, estimates, and completed work Coordinate customer pick-up and delivery of completed boats Repair Order Management Create complete, accurate, and detailed repair orders Review technician findings Prepare repair estimates Obtain customer authorization for additional repairs Maintain accurate documentation throughout the repair process Close repair orders accurately and promptly Service Coordination Work closely with technicians to prioritize workflow Monitor open repair orders and follow up on delayed jobs Help coordinate parts availability with the Parts Department Ensure customers receive proactive communication Help maintain efficient scheduling and shop workflow Warranty Administration Process warranty repairs assigned to your repair orders Gather required documentation Communicate with manufacturers as needed Ensure warranty claims are completed accurately and promptly Administrative Support Maintain customer and vessel records Assist with scheduling and workload management Support continuous improvement of service department processes Cross-train with the Parts Department to provide backup support when needed Qualifications Service Advisor, Service Writer, or Service Manager experience preferred Marine, RV, powersports, automotive, or similar dealership experience Experience with dealership management software (Lightspeed, IDS, etc.) Parts and inventory experience preferred Warranty administration experience preferred Skills & Traits Highly organized Customer focused Calm under pressure Detail oriented Excellent communicator Comfortable multitasking Collaborative team player Positive and solution-oriented Continuously looking for ways to improve processes Why Join Mark's Leisure Time Marine?
