Job Description

Service Advisor / Location Manager M-Spec Performance - 5.0 Glendale, NY Job Details Full-time $65,000 - $120,000 a year 13 hours ago Qualifications Service writing Customer communication Workflow management (operations management method) Auto service management Business management Process management Full Job Description Help Us Lead the Next Chapter of a 40-Year-Old Queens Auto Repair Shop Queens, NY | Full-Time We're looking for an experienced automotive Service Advisor who is ready for something bigger than simply working a service counter. Our company currently operates three successful automotive repair locations in Queens and Long Island, and we've been serving New York drivers since 2006. We're now working toward the potential acquisition of a well-established independent repair shop in Queens that has served its neighborhood for approximately 40 years. If completed, our goal isn't to erase what made this business successful. It's to build on it. We're looking for the right person to help us do exactly that. The Opportunity This position will eventually function as a combination Service Advisor and Location Manager . But this isn't a typical situation where you'll walk into a fully established corporate playbook on Day 1. You'll be helping us transition an existing neighborhood repair shop into the next stage of its life. Initially, that means learning the existing operation — its customers, technicians, workflow, systems and culture — while helping maintain the reputation and relationships that took decades to build. Over time, we'll work together to introduce the processes, technology and operating systems we've developed across our other locations. You'll have significant input in that process. We're looking for someone who can respect what's already working while recognizing opportunities to make things better. What You'll Eventually Own You'll be responsible for the customer-facing and day-to-day operational side of the location, including: Advising customers and building repair estimates Communicating inspection and diagnostic findings clearly Selling needed repairs and maintenance without high-pressure tactics Managing scheduling and workflow Coordinating with technicians Following up with customers and declined work Maintaining excellent customer communication Helping develop and improve shop processes Tracking key shop performance indicators Protecting and growing the shop's reputation Helping lead the location as the business transitions and grows Most importantly, you'll help us answer the question: How do we take a great neighborhood repair shop with 40 years of history and make the next 20 years even better? Who We're Looking For Automotive service advising experience is strongly preferred. Management experience is helpful, but we're also very interested in an exceptional Service Advisor who feels ready to take the next step.
The right person is:
Adaptable. This business will evolve. Systems and processes will change as we learn the operation and introduce improvements. Organized. You can keep customers, technicians, estimates, parts, schedules and follow-ups moving without losing track of the details. Excellent with people. You can explain complicated repairs simply, build trust quickly and handle difficult conversations professionally. Sales-minded without being "salesy." We believe great automotive sales comes from education, communication and trust. Comfortable taking ownership. If something isn't working, you don't simply point it out. You help figure out how to fix it. Respectful of what came before you. This is important. We're potentially inheriting a business, customer base and reputation that someone spent decades building. We're not looking for someone who walks in believing everything needs to change. Interested in building something. You'll be joining a growing automotive company, but this particular location will give the right person an unusual opportunity to help shape how it operates. About Us We've been serving New York drivers since 2006 and currently operate three automotive repair locations across Queens and Long Island. We're an independent, growing automotive company that believes professional automotive repair shops should provide customers with exceptional communication, transparency and service while also creating great careers for the people who work inside them. We're continuing to grow, and we're looking for people who want to grow with us. This isn't simply a Service Advisor opening we're trying to fill. We're looking for someone who could eventually become the person we trust to run this location. If you're an experienced Service Advisor who has thought: "I know I could run a shop if someone gave me the opportunity." We'd like to talk to you.
