JOB SUMMARY
The Building Service Multi-Skilled Representative is responsible to clean and disinfect all areas of the hospital complex and other buildings in order to create a safe, sanitary environment. Also, responsible for the clerical support of the Building Service department. This includes, but is not limited to: faxing, copying, mailing records, answering calls and initiating/completing forms. Interacts with others in a respectful and courteous manner. Documents accurately and in a timely manner. Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
RIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible to clean and disinfect all areas of the hospital complex and other buildings: Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPPA regulations. Demonstrate 11 step cleaning process and follow the cleaning training modules. Consistently demonstrate cleaning process of discharge and transfer beds. Consistently demonstrate knowledge of refuse and soiled linen handling and disposal. . Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritize work in order to meet current needs with in established timeframes. Ability to take advantage of non-productive time to organize, clean, assist others, or otherwise prepare for future work loads.
Responsible for clerical duties:
Assists the department secretary such as Kronos, setting up vendors, distribution of mail, maintaining department spreadsheets, answering phone calls, and etc Adhere to Organizational and Departmental policies and procedures. Attend mandatory hospital education annually. Attend mandatory departmental staff meetings. Demonstrate strong working knowledge of hospital and departmental policy and procedures. Comply with all safety and infection control policies and procedures. Adhere to confidentiality policy. Support and participate in common teamwork. Consistently work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow team members. Consistently address conflict in a manner that supports the team. Consistently demonstrate willingness to perform cross functional duties to insure optimal utilization of departmental resources. Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to meet departmental needs. Demonstrate a clear understanding of continuous quality improvement measures and actively participate in improvement initiatives.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform tasks that are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job. Participates in maintaining departmental functions. Demonstrates initiative in personal/ professional development. Presents a professional image. Assists with control of costs through the judicious use of human and material resources. Demonstrate compliance with all hospital-wide competencies: Patient Rights and Organizational Ethics, Performance Improvement; Core Values, Mission and Vision and Minimal Job Requirements. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent High School or Trade School students may be considered if they can legally work the hours necessary for the position. Prior experience preferred. Must have a valid Ohio driver's license. Experience with Microsoft Office products and a strong working knowledge of Excel preferred. Secretarial coursework preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must have the ability to read, write, and perform basic math, work in a fast-paced environment, and be self-motivated. Typing, computer skills and knowledge of general office equipment required. Excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette
