POSITION SUMMARY
This dual-role position is responsible for new property & casualty (P&C) sales, account rounding, and day-to-day client service. In the role, you'll prospect and close new business, service existing accounts, handle endorsements and renewals, and ensure a positive client experience across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
This team member will actively engage with customers and clients to share knowledge of the features, advantages, and disadvantages of various property and casualty insurance products by providing quotes and policy changes; Assess customers and clients needs to determine the insurance product that will protect what matters most to them now and in the future. Foster strong agency relationships with the greater community; build and maintain client and community relationships by actively managing agency engagement initiatives. It will also build relationships with customers and enhance agency client interactions. Success will be measured by team overall success and specific individual goals that are both timely and achievable. Sales and Growth Prospect, quote, and bind Personal and Commercial P&C policies Cross-sell/round accounts; manage a personal pipeline and follow-up cadence Prepare proposals, present coverage options, and overcome objections Client Service Answer coverage questions, process endorsements, certificates, ID cards, and evidence of insurance Manage renewals: remarket, review coverages, and negotiate with carriers Assist with billing inquiries, payments, and basic claims intake/first notice of loss Administration Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the agency management system (AMS) Ensure compliance with carrier and state regulations; protect client data/PII Track performance metrics (quotes, close ratios, retention, NPS) and report regularly Carrier/Market Relations Submit complete applications, underwriting narratives, and loss summaries Stay current on carrier appetite, guidelines, and product changes Community Presence Participate in local networking and referral activities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Some college or an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred . Active Ohio Property & Casualty Insurance License . Or ability to obtain it within 60 days . At least two years of P&C agency or carrier experience in account management, customer service, or sales. Independent agency experience preferred. At least two years of working knowledge of personal lines (auto/home/umbrella) and small commercial (BOP, GL, WC, commercial auto). Proficiency with an AMS (e.g., Applied Epic, HawkSoft, EZLynx) and comparative raters. Strong communication, consultative selling, and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through ; able to manage multiple priorities . Comfortable with Microsoft 365/Google Workspace ; e-sign and VOIP systems .
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Established local network and referral sources in Columbiana County. At least two years experience with claims advocacy and renewal remarketing. Insurance designations (e.g., CIC, CISR, AINS) or progressing towards one.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE
Standard weekday hours with flexibility during peak periods; Occasional after-hours client needs In-office role required with limited local travel for client visits and community events
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Base salary for this rewarding role is $40-50k and will commensurate with experience, an active P&C license , along with performance bonus potential .
