Job Description
Under direct or general supervision, acts as a Customer Service Representative for the MRO/ Industrial Sales Department, reporting directly to the General Manager. This position handles all inquiries as to the status of assigned customer's merchandise orders and account by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following:- Handles all telephone calls from assigned customers and Industrial Sales Representatives in a professional and business-like manner.
- Process credit memos to assigned customers for over-shipments, shortages, returned goods, approved price adjustments, vendor credits, defective or damaged goods.
- Process vendor's direct shipment invoices for billing.
- Maintains files of assigned customer related documents and computer records.
- Enters and processes merchandise orders for customers.
- Researches customer back-ordered merchandise upon request. Expedites merchandise shipments or cancels as directed.
- Process requests for copies of invoices, credit memos, catalog pages, supplies, price lists, bills of lading, etc. for assigned customers and Industrial Sales Representatives.
- Handles inquiries regarding delivery. Notifies customers of delays in shipment, changes in delivery schedules, and/or abnormal shipment sizes.
- Assists others during peak workloads and absences.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, including having extensive knowledge of, or experience with MRO products, fasteners and/or cutting tools. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OTHER SKILLS andABILITIES
Good PC skills are necessary. Organizational skills and effective communication skills are also necessary. It is critical to be attentive to detail while dealing with customers on an oral and written level. Must be able to effectively resolve customer problems. Requires relationship building and follow-up.- This position is full-time M-F 8-5 and two Saturdays per month.
