Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist / Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be the first point of contact for clients, coordinate appointments, and support veterinary staff with essential administrative and animal handling tasks. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help ensure a smooth, positive experience for every pet owner and their animals. Assisting clients to their vehicles by caring their pets or products. Job is fast paced and multitasking is a must. The right person should have some animal and veterinary medicine knowledge. Our practice is open 365 days a year. Work schedule is a rotational four days on and four days off, which may include weekends and holidays. Please send resume. Pay will vary with experience. Duties Greet clients warmly, answer phone inquiries, and schedule appointments efficiently Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including medical record updates and billing procedures Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint, handling, and basic animal care as needed Collect payments, process medical collections, and maintain accurate financial records Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, treatment rooms, and kennel spaces Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, veterinary terminology, and treatment plans Qualifications Previous experience in veterinary reception or customer service roles preferred but not required Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures is a plus Familiarity with laboratory procedures, medical collections, and pet grooming is beneficial Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Ability to handle animals safely during restraint or transport situations Basic computer skills for scheduling software and record keeping Passion for animal care with a willingness to learn about veterinary critical care practices and equine experience is advantageous Join us at Perkins Veterinary Clinic where your dedication will make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners!
