The role:
Writer + Manager This position is the bridge between the customer experience and shop performance. You will write service, lead the day, and help manage the scoreboard. You are not here to "sell." You are here to educate, lead, and run a clean operation . The role (Service Writer first — with management responsibility)You'll be the primary point of contact for customers and a key person keeping the shop on track.
Service Writer responsibilities:
Build trust with customers and explain repairs in clear, jargon-free language Write estimates and recommendations, obtain approvals, and provide timely updates Maintain clean documentation (notes, photos, authorizations, invoices) Coordinate with technicians so work is properly scoped, documented, and delivered with quality Manager responsibilities (keep the shop moving): Monitor workflow and prevent bottlenecks (follow up on stuck jobs, keep priorities clear) Support parts flow and ensure processes are followed (receiving/check-in, staging, documentation) Ensure SOPs are followed consistently (opening/closing, intake/QC, cleanliness, safety) Track performance using KPI's (sales, billed hours, efficiency, quality, customer experience) and help the team stay accountable Cash handling & admin Take payments accurately and professionally Follow cash handling procedures and end-of-day documentation standards Keep the front end organized and reliable Schedule Tuesday-Friday, 7:00 AM-6:00 PM (4-day work week) Pay & benefits
