//www.dxpe.com/about-us/careers/ Position Summary The Customer Service Representative Trainee supports branch operations by assisting customers, processing orders and quotes, coordinating with vendors, and supporting inventory and sales activities within an industrial distribution environment. This role is designed to develop the skills and product knowledge necessary to provide excellent customer service while learning company systems, products, and operational processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, motivated to learn, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Key Responsibilities Provide customer support via phone and email regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and order status Prepare, process, and follow up on quotes, sales orders, purchase orders, returns, and credits Support outside sales representatives with customer accounts, projects, and product sourcing Coordinate with vendors, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure timely deliveries and resolve issues Monitor inventory levels, stock-outs, back-orders, and open purchase orders; proactively expedite late orders Process supplier acknowledgements and verify pricing, lead times, and order accuracy Communicate delays, shortages, and critical updates to the CSR and sales teams Maintain accurate customer and purchasing records within ERP systems Assist with pricing, supplier negotiations, inventory planning, and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications Experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, metalworking, MRO, tooling, or related industries preferred Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills Basic computer proficiency including data entry, internet navigation, and Microsoft Office applications Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and ERP systems Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude and willingness to learn Preferred Skills Knowledge of industrial products, tooling, cutting tools, abrasives, fasteners, hydraulics, or MRO supplies Experience with inventory management, purchasing, quoting, and vendor relationships Strong problem-solving and customer service skills #LI-TS1 #
