We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Customer Service Representative to join our Durable Medical Equipment support team. This role is vital in providing exceptional service to patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies by addressing inquiries, and ensuring smooth communication across medical offices. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer communication skills, medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. This paid position offers an opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while developing valuable skills in the healthcare industry. Duties Respond promptly and courteously to customer and provider inquiries via phone, email, and in person on showroom. Perform data entry tasks to update customer records and maintain accurate information - Complete customer's Intake Sheet/ Doctor notes, Medical records, Insurance Verifications, Plan of service, Referrals Resolve customer concerns and complaints by identifying problems and coordinating appropriate corrective action. Strong sales abilities to sell medical equipment from the showroom. Confirm patient details, and update medical records accurately within the system. Verify insurance information and assist with billing or claim-related questions to facilitate smooth reimbursement processes. Provide clear explanations of medical procedures, policies, and appointment protocols to diverse audiences. Verify the patient's insurance coverage. Make edits and adjustments to insurance information according to processes. Validate patient details and enter all information and documentation into the system accurately. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient flow and ensure timely service delivery. Utilize computer skills for data entry, updating records, and managing communication logs efficiently. Demonstrate strong phone etiquette and active listening skills to resolve issues effectively while maintaining a professional demeanor. Skills Proficiency in medical terminology to accurately interpret and communicate healthcare-related information. Excellent computer skills with experience in data entry systems, (EHR), and customer management software. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally. Knowledge of medical office procedures, billing practices, and insurance protocols. Effective communication skills—both verbal and written—to convey information clearly and empathetically. Analysis skills for assessing patient needs, troubleshooting issues, and providing or selling appropriate solutions promptly.
