  • Full-time Join One of the Region's Leading Oral Surgery Practices Innovative Oral Surgery & Dental Implants is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and patient-focused Insurance Benefits Coordinator to join our growing team.
With five oral surgeons across three successful locations , our practice has built a reputation for exceptional patient care, clinical excellence, and a positive team culture. We are looking for an insurance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the complexities of dental and medical insurance, and enjoys helping patients navigate their benefits with confidence. This is not an entry-level position. We are seeking a seasoned professional with a strong background in insurance verification, benefit analysis, and patient financial communication. About the Role As our Insurance Benefits Coordinator, you will be responsible for verifying dental and medical insurance benefits for patients scheduled throughout the practice. You will work closely with patients, providers, scheduling teams, and insurance carriers to ensure accurate benefit information is obtained and communicated before treatment. A major component of this role involves speaking directly with patients and helping them understand their insurance coverage, expected benefits, and estimated out-of-pocket expenses. The ideal candidate can confidently explain complex insurance information in a clear, compassionate, and easy-to-understand manner. This position supports all five surgeons and all oral surgery procedures, including anesthesia services.
Please note:
Implant benefit verification is managed by a dedicated Implant Benefits Coordinator. This role focuses on all other oral surgery procedures and anesthesia-related benefit verification. What You'll Do Verify dental and medical insurance benefits for oral surgery procedures Verify anesthesia coverage and authorization requirements Contact insurance carriers to obtain accurate benefit information Review deductibles, annual maximums, exclusions, waiting periods, and policy limitations Accurately document benefits and coverage details within practice software Communicate insurance benefits and patient financial responsibility clearly and professionally Educate patients regarding deductibles, co-insurance, co-payments, non-covered services, and estimated out-of-pocket expenses Help patients understand what insurance is expected to cover and what costs may remain their responsibility Coordinate closely with scheduling and clinical teams to ensure patients are financially cleared before treatment Manage a high volume of benefit verifications while maintaining accuracy and efficiency Stay current on insurance guidelines, carrier policies, and industry changes What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is more than just knowledgeable about insurance. Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of dental insurance verification experience Strong understanding of both dental and medical insurance benefits Experience with oral surgery, specialty dental, or anesthesia benefit verification preferred Exceptional organizational and time management skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent verbal communication and telephone skills Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment Professional, patient-focused demeanor
