Service Writer/ Office Assistant

Job Summary Family owned and operated shop, seeking a motivated Service Writer to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing/organizing service requests, coordinating with management/ owner and technicians. Working together for accurate communication between customers and all staff for a smooth and proficient work flow. This is a stop in a fill out an application type of business. Also must have full understanding of vehicle systems, and able to explain in a understanding and thorough manner. Duties Greet customers and assess their automotive service needs. Create detailed service orders based on customer requests and vehicle diagnostics. Communicate effectively with service technicians to relay customer concerns and ensure accurate repairs. Provide estimates for services and repairs, including oil changes and other routine maintenance. Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales and services rendered. Follow up with customers regarding their vehicle status and any additional services needed. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to enhance customer experience. Skills Strong background in automotive sales and diagnostics is required. Proficient in cash handling and customer service practices. Knowledge of auto estimating processes and service management systems. Experience working alongside service technicians to understand repair needs. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with procedures and automotive maintenance is a requirement. A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer satisfaction.
