Job Description Summary Program Overview:

The BOLD Women's Leadership Network at Marshall was spearheaded by Alys Smith, First Lady of Marshall, and Wing-to-Wing Co-founder in 2024. This program is a member of the broader BOLD Women's Leadership Network created by the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation. BOLD at Marshall is one of five institutions in the country to partner on this initiative, and the first of its kind in Appalachia.

Position Overview:

The BOLD Graduate Assistant supports the Women's BOLD Leadership Network at Marshall University by assisting with program organization, communication, and mentor network development. This position connects scholars with mentors, manages outreach, and helps plan events. The Student Assistant works closely with the BOLD Director and Advisory Board.

Key Responsibilities:

Organizing program calendar across communication platforms. Collecting and maintaining program/event metrics. Setting up, tearing down, and staffing program events. Designing and distributing promotional materials (event graphics, Center Newsletter, etc.) Creating and scheduling social media content (Instagram, stories, reels, etc.) Organize and maintain an updated database of potential mentors, including professional backgrounds and contact information. Identify and connect with potential mentors through email or phone calls to share information about the BOLD program and invite them to participate. Communicating in a timely and effective manner. Working collaboratively with other staff members, the advisory board, and network affiliates. Demonstrating professionalism and quality service. Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

Detail-oriented and able to manage tasks with sensitivity and confidentiality when needed. Strong communication and organizational skills Familiarity with social media/scheduling platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) Experience using Adobe Express and/or Adobe Photoshop Comfortable representing the Center at events, tabling, and outreach activities Interest in student engagement, event planning, and student success Department Women & Gender Center
