Cut Off Control Technician I

  • Night Shift Premium (for overnight shifts): $1.
50 in addition to base rate.
Purpose:
Performs the operation of receiving, cutting and controlling bars, billets or pipes inventory and assists the cut off operation, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures, complying with defined quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Commit to health, safety and environmental policies and notify situations that present potential risk.
  • Ensure product quality complies with defined standards and reporting deviations.
  • Carry out duties in an efficient manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards in accordance with minimum costs.
  • Perform activities according to applicable procedures.
  • Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy and product traceability.
  • Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning.
  • Attend and collaborate in training activities to maintain and increase company knowledge.
  • Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain a clean and ordered workplace.
  • Perform activities understanding their consequences on the global process.
  • Abide by Tenaris discipline norms.
Main Activities:
  • Controls material reception.
  • Carries out material loading.
  • Cuts bars or pipes.
  • Controls bar and billet inventory in yards.
  • Identifies casting changes.
  • Assists machine lock outs and tag outs and does operative maintenance (cooling fluid, machine adjustments, etc.).
  • Updates information in the tracking systems and records the obtained results.
