Job Description
Job Summary The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through routine cycle counting and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods within a stainless-steel manufacturing facility. This role supports high standards of quality, traceability, and compliance required for customers in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. Key Responsibilities Perform daily and scheduled cycle counts of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods Investigate, analyze, and reconcile inventory discrepancies Accurately record count results in the ERP/MRP system Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Shipping to resolve inventory variances Ensure proper identification, labeling, and traceability of stainless steel materials (heats, lots, serials, etc.) Support compliance with GMP, FDA, and industry-specific quality standards Assist with physical inventories and audits (internal and external) Verify inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments Identify root causes of inventory errors and recommend corrective actions Maintain organized, clean, and safe inventory areas in accordance with 5S and safety requirements Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred) 2+ years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or materials management in a manufacturing environment Experience working with ERP/MRP systems Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic math skills and ability to interpret inventory data Ability to read and understand work orders, bills of material, and material certifications Familiarity with stainless steel products, lot control, or traceability preferred Preferred Qualifications Experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments Knowledge of GMP, FDA, ISO, or ASME standards Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification Experience with continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S) Good communication skills Culture Actively work to create strong communication and a healthy working environment Communicate in a positive, clear and respectful manner with all Respectfully listen to concerns and ideas brought to your attention Support and participate in company functions Respect confidentiality Continuous improvement and customer-first thinking in everything we do.
