Loyola Medical Center located in the western suburbs and approximately, 35 minutes from downtown Chicago. Easy access from I290 and I55. Come be a part of the transformation happening at Loyola Medicine. New state of the art Regional Clinical Laboratory. The new lab enables greater operational efficiencies, improved turnaround times to support future growth and expansion into emerging technologies and lab testing methodologies. Part- Time; 20 hours per week 3 Days per week 8:00am - 4:30pm

Cytology About the Job In this role, the Cytopreparatory Technician, will receive and evaluate cytology specimens to ensure positive sample identification and appropriateness. Process gynecological, non-gynecological and fine needle aspirations slides for diagnostic evaluation by cytopathology technologists and pathologists. Utilize the pathology computer system to provide accurate information for testing, tracking and reporting. Here's what you will do Receive specimens or slides, assess acceptability and accession cytopathology cases into the pathology information system Process gynecological, and non-gynecological specimens and fine needle aspirations slides for diagnostic evaluation by the cytotechnologists and pathologists Maintain appropriate department supply inventory Sort vials for testing sent to reference labs Recognize, document and resolve specimen identification errors Store specimens appropriately Operate and maintain department equipment as required Prepare cell blocks for Histology File and retrieve slides and requisitions Here is what you'll need

Range:
$20 .00 - 25.00 per hour Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
