Damage Prevention Technician (One-Call)

Texas, Monahans Job Description:
Damage Prevention Technicians in Southern Brush are responsible for performing utility locate services and right-of-way inspections on assigned pipeline systems. The technician will be responsible for coordinating with third-party excavators to ensure that the safety and integrity of underground pipelines are maintained during excavation activities. Additionally, the technician will complete all the associated documentation to ensure compliance with all standards.Job Responsibilities:
Schedule/Coordinate review of excavation activities near assigned underground pipelines Use an electronic line locator and possibly probing equipment to mark the centerline of pipelines in the vicinity of third-party excavations; install permanent and temporary markings as a visual representation of the pipeline locations, and complete and submit all required documentation Drive vehicles over all kinds of terrain. Responsible for safe operations of those vehicles. Read and interpret alignment sheets to determine the route of pipelines Protect assigned pipeline assets during third-party excavation Effectively manage public relations issues Process One-Call tickets and respond to One-Call tickets within the state-mandated time frame Utilize mapping programs and online database to determine third-party excavation location, easement boundaries, and report conditions Drive to job sites to review/meet with third parties and steward third-party excavation performance Ensure compliance with all Operator restrictions/procedures related to excavation activities within the appropriate distance from Operator pipelinesQualifications & Experience:
Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions; outdoor experience preferred Must be able to walk, bend and lift 75 pounds Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) effectively Ability to operate hand tools or other pipeline equipment to accomplish assigned tasks Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistently safe work ethic Must be willing and able to attend/complete required training courses Must be willing and able to work in small team environments Must be willing and able to work in various locations, both indoors and outdoors Must be proficient with basic computer skills Must be available to work overtime and some weekends (as needed) HS diploma or GED required Must pass drug screen, and background check.
