Job Description Data Scientist (Commercial Strategy) Do you love the art of using data to solve complex business problems? Our mission as part of the Commercial Strategy organization is to put our data assets to work, and apply quantitative techniques to discover previously unknown insights about our guests and business. We work directly with major decision-makers, shaping the Disney experience. Our insights help form and improve Disney products and offerings. As an individual contributor, reporting to the Manager of Data Science, you will oversee the creation of complex modeling/tool development, special projects and deep-dive analytics supporting the Commercial organization, specializing in the optimization of Merchandise and Food & Beverage pricing and revenue management. Team up with other data experts o Work with business partners to identify and unlock opportunities o Automate workflows and analysis to ensure faster business decisions o Work with other data teams to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, data visualization, experimentation, and data architecture Basic Qualifications You will have…- Knowledge of data science/advanced analytic concepts (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, clustering)
- 1+ years of experience developing presentations and reports using quantitative information for non-technical partners
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as R or Python
- 1+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL programming
- Knowledge of industry-leading data and analytic tools (e.g., Snowflake, Sagemaker, Dataiku, Tableau, Plotly)
- A understanding of microeconomics including elasticity
- Familiarity with automated deployment, AWS infrastructure, Docker, or similar containers Required Education
