RESPONSIBILITIES OF A CHILDCARE PROGRAM LEAD

Coordinates childcare programs to meet the needs of the community and meet Y objectives. Develops and maintains programs in accordance with organizational and operational plans. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other community organizations. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff. Ensure records of staff certifications are current and complete; provide training as needed. Organizes and facilitates age-appropriate activities Supervises and interacts with children at play safely. Market and distribute program information to members and the community at large. This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A CHILDCARE PROGRAM LEAD

21 years of age or older Current state approved first aid certification Current CPR Demonstrated ability to provide childcare Minimum 2 years' experience working with children Knowledge and experience in child watch or babysitting including demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate activities to children, ages 5 years to 11 years. Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, peers, volunteers, and supervisor. Ability to effectively communicate information on YMCA programs. Knowledge of staff/volunteer supervision and program management preferred.
