  • $1,250/week (4 weeks total, including training)
Overview:
Guides are the heart of the Camp Funtier experience. Working in pairs, they lead a "homestead family" of about 11 campers through a week of creativity, collaboration, and discovery within our immersive frontier world. The role includes 1 week of training to introduce core concepts, activities, and ways of working.
Population Served:
Campers ages 5 to 12 and Junior Guides ages 13 to 15 with diverse learning styles and interests. Key Responsibilities Supervise and engage campers in all activities Ensure physical and emotional safety at all times, following supervision protocols and positive, age-appropriate behavior management techniques, including the ability to handle: Conflict between campers, Dysregulation (tantrums, withdrawal, anxiety), Boundary-setting without escalation Facilitate teamwork, reflection, and problem solving Lead homestead activities, workshops, and challenges Support setup, transitions, and cleanup Foster an inclusive, supportive community Qualifications Experience working with children Energetic, adaptable, and dependable Comfortable working outdoors and with hands-on projects Work collaboratively with camp leadership and follow established protocols for risk management and communication

Type:
Seasonal, Full-Time Camp Funtier is a one-of-a-kind living-history and design-thinking day camp where young pioneers (ages 5 to 12) step into the 1880s to build their own frontier society. Through creativity, collaboration, and outdoor adventure, campers design a thriving civilization from governance to culture using hands-on, story-driven experiences. Our founding team brings this world to life. We are seeking imaginative, capable, and mission-driven educators, makers, and leaders who believe in experiential learning, community, and the power of play. Camp Funtier operates three one-week sessions in July, preceded by a paid week of staff training and setup. Each session serves up to 35 campers with a low camper-to-staff ratio to ensure safety, connection, and meaningful mentorship. All staff must commit to the full program: one week of paid training plus all three camp sessions (June 28 to July 24). Staff receive healthy meals and snacks daily in a beautiful outdoor setting that supports collaboration and creativity. Why Join the Founding Team?
