Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Day Program Instructor, where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will facilitate engaging activities, provide essential support, and foster a positive environment that promotes independence, social skills, and community integration. Your dedication will help create a nurturing space where participants feel valued, motivated, and confident to explore new opportunities every day. Duties Lead and implement daily activities tailored to the needs and interests of individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism. Support behavioral health and behavior management strategies to encourage positive behaviors and emotional well-being. Collect data on participant progress and activity outcomes to inform care plans and program improvements. Facilitate communication using various methods, including American Sign Language when applicable, to ensure effective interaction. Provide safe transportation when necessary by driving participants to community outings or appointments. Support participants with medication administration, if needed, following prescribed protocols in compliance with safety standards. Document daily activities, behavioral observations, and incident reports accurately for ongoing assessment and reporting. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in educational or community settings. Strong understanding of special education principles and inclusive practices. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to use American Sign Language if needed. Knowledge of behavioral health concepts and behavior management techniques to support positive development. Home & community care experience demonstrating caregiving skills in real-world settings. Ability to assist with ADLs effectively while promoting independence and dignity. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for safe transportation responsibilities. Compassionate caregiving approach combined with patience, flexibility, and active listening skills. Experience in data collection related to social work or behavioral health interventions is preferred. Join us in making a meaningful difference!
