Daycare Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant educational team. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development Support children with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special education requirements, ensuring they receive personalized attention Use effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and maintain a safe, orderly environment Facilitate communication with children using American Sign Language (ASL) or other augmentative communication methods as needed Help prepare classroom materials, set up learning activities, and organize educational resources to enhance student engagement Monitor and document student progress through observations and assessments, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals Collaborate with teachers and specialists to develop tailored lesson plans that support early childhood development and literacy education Support toddlers and preschool-aged children in their daily routines, including potty training, snack time, and nap schedules Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavioral concerns Qualifications Prior experience working with children in classroom settings or childcare environments is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and classroom management strategies Familiarity with special education concepts such as IEP implementation and behavior management techniques Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn ASL is a plus Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners and support inclusive classroom environments Relevant certifications or coursework in early childhood education or special education are desirable Passion for working with children across various age groups including toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary students Join us to inspire young minds! $17.00 - $26.44 per hour
