Job Description:
DC Produce Manager Summary:
The Warehouse Produce Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the produce department within DC. This includes managing inbound receiving, outbound order fulfillment, inventory control, quality assurance, and food safety compliance. The role ensures that all fresh produce is handled, stored, and distributed efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Oversee receiving of produce shipments; verify quantity, quality, and temperature compliance; maintain cold chain integrity; coordinate dock scheduling; reject or document non-compliant goods. Supervise order picking, packing, and palletizing; ensure accurate, timely fulfillment; enforce FIFO rotation; coordinate with logistics for on-time delivery. Manage returns by verifying quantities and condition; determine disposition (resale, donation, disposal); document reason codes; identify root causes with store teams. Implement quality control standards; conduct audits; train staff; monitor metrics (shrink, damage, returns); address supplier quality issues. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP); maintain sanitation and storage standards; ensure product traceability; support audits and inspections. Lead and develop warehouse staff; manage scheduling; promote safety and accountability; conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Monitor inventory levels; maintain accurate records; minimize waste and spoilage; utilize warehouse management systems and reporting tools. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
3-5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in fresh produce or perishable goods 1-2+ years in a supervisory or management role Strong knowledge of produce handling, grading, and cold chain logistics Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP, FSMA, GMPs) Experience with warehouse management systems Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills HACCP certification or equivalent food safety training is preferred Bilingual (English/Chinese or Spanish) is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Working Conditions:
Cold storage conditions (refrigerated areas, 34-55°F) Exposure to fresh produce, including varying temperatures and humidity levels

The pay range for this job is between $72k - 78k per year. This is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
