Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a thriving suburban district near Adams, TN. This position runs from August 3, 2026, to May 28, 2027, aligning with the academic calendar. You'll contribute to students' educational journeys across elementary, middle, and high school DHH hubs, providing mostly consultative services tailored to evolving district needs. This full-time, onsite role is set at 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Assignments vary and span multiple campuses, with caseloads ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade. Desired experience & qualifications: Current Tennessee Department of Education certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Strong foundation in strategies for instructing students across a range of hearing abilities Experience in school-based, consultative roles preferred Previous work with K-12 student populations Flexibility to travel between campuses as needed for assignment coverage Must complete Tennessee fingerprinting and all district onboarding requirements on a timely basis
Responsibilities:
Conduct consultative and direct services based on individualized student needs and district assignments Collaborate closely with general educators, support staff, and families to ensure effective accommodations Support the launch and ongoing success of a new middle school DHH hub Contribute to IEP development and implementation Facilitate communication access and advocate for student participation in academic and extracurricular activities You'll make a genuine impact by helping students access education and develop communication skills in a supportive, professional environment.
