Job Description
Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a difference in students' lives by working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing supporting K-12 students for the 2026-2027 school year! Two contract positions are available, providing flexible options including in-person or virtual (VOCO) service delivery. You'll make a meaningful impact, collaborating with educators, families, and staff to help each child achieve success across several counties, including Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, and Klamath. Applicants will deliver educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, using your expertise to foster accessible learning opportunities and implement individualized educational plans.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement (or eligibility) Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings Skilled in both direct instruction and consultation with school staff and families Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities Proficiency with technology for both in-person and virtual instruction (preferred for VOCO roles) Open to travel within assigned locations as neededResponsibilities:
Provide high-quality instruction and accommodations to meet student IEP goals Assess student progress and adapt strategies to meet unique learning needs Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, parents, and specialists Monitor and document progress, ensuring compliance with special education regulations Serve as a resource and advocate for students, supporting inclusive education Engage in ongoing professional development related to deaf education This role offers the opportunity to support students in a supportive, multi-county education service environment and build lasting professional relationships.Contract dates:
