Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our new team! As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the dentist during procedures and ensure the comfort and well-being of our patients. If you are passionate about dentistry and have excellent patient care skills, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are ready
  • Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing other necessary support
  • Take and develop dental x-rays as instructed by the dentist
  • Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history
  • Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems such as OpenDental
  • Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
Skills:
  • Dental assisting experience is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate
  • Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
  • Familiarity with medical documentation and recordkeeping practices, including HIPAA compliance
  • Proficiency in taking accurate vital signs
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
