Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Prior experience with EMR systems, dental imaging, and pediatric dentistry is highly valued. The position involves working closely with dentists and patients to deliver high-quality dental services while maintaining strict adherence to infection control and HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments, including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and medical imaging. Take and develop X-rays, including digital 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Maintain patient comfort by explaining procedures and answering questions about dental treatments. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed, including aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Manage medical documentation, records, and coding in compliance with HIPAA standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with billing or coding as needed. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating patience and understanding for young patients. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to all safety standards. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing dental records and documentation. Experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently across general dentistry procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and patient care processes. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Ability to work collaboratively within a team of dental professionals in a fast-paced environment.
