Dental Assistant

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience. This position involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with industry standards. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment while adhering to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using appropriate techniques. Manage patient records through EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency. Perform vital signs checks and assist with medical documentation as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain a clean and organized dental clinic environment. Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming atmosphere for young patients. Requirements Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems; familiarity with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience with medical imaging and understanding of medical coding/documentation is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices within a dental setting. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatrics.
