In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education, ensuring each patient receives personalized attention in a friendly, professional environment. Your dedication will help foster a positive experience that encourages ongoing dental wellness and trust. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, to maintain and improve patients' oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and preparing patients for various treatments. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical history in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Support the dental team with general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry needs, including pediatric-specific care when applicable. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding to ensure precise documentation and billing. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient record management. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures aligned with HIPAA regulations. Ability to perform chairside assisting during various dental procedures with competence in four-handed dentistry techniques. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health and the ability to review documentation thoroughly for accuracy. Experience providing patient care in pediatric dentistry environments is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for working with children is valued.
