DENTAL HYGIENIST NEEDED FOR A CHARLOTTESVILLE VIRGINIA PRACTICE
($15,000 SIGNING BONUS) Job description: Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and the ability to work effectively within a team. This role offers an opportunity to provide exceptional dental hygiene services in a professional environment committed to patient health and comfort. Candidates should have experience with EMR systems, infection control protocols, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring comprehensive care for diverse patient populations. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans. Assist in chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Review and document medical records accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure seamless patient care delivery. Maintain sterilization protocols and infection control procedures to uphold safety standards. Manage documentation review and assist with medical coding for billing purposes when necessary. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when required, ensuring a gentle approach tailored to children's needs. Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and EMR systems for documentation and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry practices. Experience with pediatric dentistry, including pediatric patient care and assessment. Skilled in chairside assisting, including medical imaging and vital signs monitoring. Knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and sterilization standards. Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively on oral health topics. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
