Dental Hygienist

Job Summary Nexus is a comfortable, relaxed-pace, owner-operated dental office that prioritizes patient care and patient experience. Current hours are Monday 8-5, Tuesday 8-5, Thursday 8-5, Saturdays 8-1. Hygiene adult recall appointments are typically 60 minutes. New adult patient appointments are 80 minutes. SRP appointments are 60-80 minutes. We have a great patient base consisting mainly of adults that enjoy seeing us and we enjoy seeing them. The owner general dentist loves to teach and involve the team in treatment and strongly believes in co-diagnosis with the hygienist. A periodontist comes in part-time and a prosthodontist comes in as needed. We utilize Digital Radiographs, Panormaic Radiographs, Itero Scanner, Intraoral and extraoral photography. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, polishing, and fluoride treatments to prevent cavities and gum disease. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Take imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term health. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories within Eaglesoft EMR system. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling sensitive medical information appropriately. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental office settings Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and dental assisting practices. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members.

Pay:

$50.00 - $60.00 per hour
