In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their insurance benefits, financial arrangements, and billing processes. Your expertise will ensure smooth financial operations, accurate coding, and effective communication between patients, insurance providers, and the clinical team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive patient experience while maintaining efficient financial workflows. Duties Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments, ensuring all necessary information is current and accurate Assist patients with understanding their dental insurance benefits, including coverage limits and co-payments Prepare and submit claims using appropriate dental coding Manage billing processes, including posting payments, processing adjustments, and following up on unpaid claims or denials Maintain accurate medical records and documentation Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure proper documentation of procedures using correct medical terminology and coding standards Conduct collections efforts for overdue accounts while maintaining excellent patient relations
  • Checking insurance eligibility and eligibility for specific procedures

Patient check in and out. Collect balances/copays from patients (in office and via statements) and we strive until fully collected. Understands our practice goals and helps us strive to reach them Submit dental claims and post payments of received claims including EFT payments Unpaid claim (30 day) follow-up as well as past due accounts: Every 2 weeks, the 1st and 15th of every month Follow-up with outstanding patient balances and collection of these balances
  • Be familiar with dental procedures offered and general descriptions
  • Ensure there is a copy of the patient's dental insurance in their file, updated annually

Occasional scheduling and other front desk duties Requirements Proven experience in a dental office setting with a focus on insurance coordination and billing Strong knowledge of dental insurance processes Experience working with Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing medical records and billing information Excellent understanding of dental terminology and procedures related to dental care Ability to navigate medical billing software efficiently and accurately process claims Strong communication skills to explain insurance benefits clearly to patients and resolve billing issues effectively Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Join us in delivering exceptional care by ensuring our patients receive transparent financial guidance while maintaining seamless administrative operations.
