Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the quality and delivery of Dental services and operations. Performs assigned clinical procedures for the comfort and well being of patients. Ensures quality and safe delivery of care. Direct supervision of staff in the office. Responsible for the overall day-to-day office operations, including; patient services, staffing levels, security, safety, facilities and other assigned duties. Adheres to Corporate Compliance program, by reporting improper or unethical conduct, violation of applicable laws, regulations or program requirements.DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to duties and responsibilities of Clinical staff support, the Dental Office Manager assumes leadership and supervisory responsibilities.These duties include:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations, while ensuring the quality and safe delivery of health care services are in concert with corporate policies and procedures and comply with all Federal (and Grant), State and local legal and regulatory requirements. Responsibility for safety and security including OSHA requirements such as Infection Control, Right to Know, Workers Compensation, and corporate safety program requirements. Daily responsibility for safety and security of all patients, visitors, and employees at sites managed. On-site management responsibility for physical plant operations and grounds maintenance. In conjunction with Materials Management, is responsible for building maintenance, HVAC and waste removal, electrical services, etc. Patient and public relations responsibilities include on-site contact for patient complaints/concerns. Being accessible to all staff during operating hours. Assessing and prioritizing daily operational needs and assigning tasks as appropriate. Responds to provider needs and provides clinical support to staff, as needed. Responsible for daily administrative requirements including proper completion and processing of daily logs, forms, charts, etc. Responsible for maintaining proper patient flow. Cooperates with all to develop and modify provider schedule. Reports incidents, conflicts, environmental, building and equipment deficiencies or abnormalities to supervisor. Responsible for the coordination of HMO referrals and authorizations, subsidized and non-subsidized referrals. Cooperates with Performance Improvement in the completion of audits, chart reviews, logs, etc. Reviews laboratory reports and completes appropriate processing, as authorized. Monitors stock levels and supplies, and ordering items required for department operations. Coordinates and controls employment and employee relations activities such as temporary staff assignments, time cards (E-time) and payroll matters, staff activities and meetings, provider and staff relations, as appropriate. Coordinates employee communications and training through staff meetings and minutes and ensures availability of in-service training OSHA, infection control, employee safety, etc. on a continuing basis. Utilizes electronic oral health record system to enter, retrieve and document patient information accurately and efficiently RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Superior clinical and supervisory skills. Appropriate professional conduct. Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively. Working Knowledge of medical procedures, medical law and ethics. Demonstrates skills in operating medical/dental equipment and performing routine lab tests. Ability to provide assistance, direction, and information to other staff members. Working knowledge of dental records and electronic oral health record system.TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, GED or equivalent training and experience. Certified in Expanded Functions and Radiography. At least two years supervisory experience in a Dental office preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Bilingual skills English/Spanish preferred. CPR certification preferred. Prior computer experience, medical systems preferred. Prior Community Health Center/Migrant Health Center experience preferred.Similar remote jobs
