Position Title Department of Physical Therapy Tutor Department Physical Therapy Division Academic Affairs Supervisor Sara Scholtes Supervisor Title Department Chair, Physical Therapy Description of Job Duties
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students' academic performance and personal challenges by abiding by FERPA regulations.
  • Assist students in understanding complex physical therapy concepts and materials through tutoring, skill checks, supplemental instruction, or classroom support as appropriate.
  • Work closely with faculty members to align peer interactions through tutoring, skill checks, supplemental instruction, or classroom support with course objectives and requirements.
  • Provide feedback to faculty regarding common areas of difficulty among students. Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting a positive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Provide encouragement and motivation to peers as they build confidence in their knowledge and skills.
  • Foster a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help, including facilitating open communication with students to understand their specific needs.
  • Encourage the use of effective study techniques such as active learning methods, group discussions, and practice scenarios.
