Supervision & Examples of Duties Deputy Probation Officer I Receives direction from the Chief Probation Officer and direct supervision from the supervising Probation Officers. Deputy Probation Officer II Receives direction from the Chief Probation Officer and supervision from the supervising Probation Officers. Qualifications Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :Deputy Probation Officer I Experience:
Some experience in the field of probation or law enforcement is desirable.Training :
Equivalent to a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in law enforcement, criminal justice or closely related field.License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a certificate of completion of course prescribed by commission of Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) pursuant to Section 832 of the California Penal Code. Completion of or the ability to complete the STC Probation Officer CORE Course and the possession of, or the ability to obtain California Penal Code 832 Certification. Learn to facilitate Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), Batterers' Treatment Program (BTP)and other Cognitive Behavioral Therapy programs. County of Colusa The County of Colusa, nestled in the heart of the Sacramento Valley approximately 60 miles north of Sacramento and 100 miles northeast of the San Francisco Bay Area, is a vibrant community rich in history and tradition and, offering a wonderful environment in which to live, work and play.
