Job Description
Studio Manager James Ayers Studios Scottsdale, AZ 85255 Posted over 3 years James Ayers Studios is seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable Studio Manager. The primary role of this position is to manage the administrative aspects of the studio, maintain the artist's inventory, and execute art handling/storing. Applicants should have managerial experience in the arts; experience with detailed database management; ability to manage ongoing exhibitions, events and press deadlines; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to prioritize, solve problems and be resourceful.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support artist by managing studio administration and email correspondence
- Coordinate all administrative aspects of upcoming shows with galleries and museums
- Art handling including storing, shipping, and installing artwork
- Edit artist statements, press releases and conduct research as needed
- Write and apply for art shows, museum events, and grants
- Assist with the management of social media accounts while working with artist to create content and social media marketing strategies
- Order materials and manage outside vendors as needed
- Hire and train individuals as needed
- Light record keeping and bill-pay
- Maintain systems for tracking artwork, projects, and sales
- Maintain artist's online and physical archives
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- The ideal candidate has several years of experience working in an established artist's studio or art gallery/and or management experience within the arts
- Experience developing and maintaining databases
- Proficiency with Mac OS X, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic creative software such as Photoshop, and Adobe Lightroom
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Ability to edit and/or write artist statements, press releases, and media communications to/from galleries, institutions, and publications
- A valid driver's license
