SUMMARY:
SACI Teaching Artists lead classes in a variety of artistic disciplines for youth and adults on campus at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. Disciplines include acting, musical theatre, improvisation, jazz dance, contemporary dance, and songwriting. Classes are one-hour long and run for 12 weeks, ending in a final showcase performance on May 3rd, 2026. Teaching Artists uphold the SACI mission to create beauty and belonging for each generation through education.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and teach weekly classes on campus. Classes are scheduled Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 3:30-8:15pm for youth and adults Create lesson plans that are age and level appropriate, and secure approval from the SACI Director Attend the final showcase performance (paid) Cultivate a warm, invitational, and supportive learning environment Inspire creativity in students Empower and nurture each student as they learn and grow Maintain a professional attitude in class and in communications with students, parents, and staff members Active member of a Christian church Alignment with the SACI vision: Every artist with a calling Strong interpersonal skills and a team player Joyful and fun-loving Organized and detail-oriented Mandated reporter certification (will train) LiveScan background check
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A
bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; or 5+ years of experience teaching in the artistic discipline Teaching experience preferred
