Job Title:
Glassblowing Instructor About GRT Hot Glass Studios:
We are a vibrant creative studio offering immersive and hands-on glassblowing experiences for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space for people to discover the art of glassblowing, explore their creativity, and create beautiful, functional pieces. Whether it's a group workshop, a solo session, or a team-building event, we make the glassblowing journey fun, accessible, and safe for all.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced part-time Glassblowing Instructor to guide guests through the exciting process of glassblowing. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of glassblowing experience and a love for working with people, but no prior instructional experience is required. We provide training on how to lead classes and work with participants. This position involves leading one-on-one and group glassblowing experiences, ensuring safety, and providing guidance as participants create their own unique glass art.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead 'Create your own' glassblowing workshops and experiences for individuals and groups of varying skill levels Demonstrate glassblowing techniques and guide participants through each step of the process Ensure all safety protocols are followed at all times Create an engaging and supportive environment that fosters creativity and learning Assist in the preparation and setup of the studio for classes Provide feedback to students on their work, helping them improve their techniques Maintain a clean and organized work environment Handle glassblowing tools and materials responsibly Support with studio events, workshops, and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of consistent glassblowing experience (required) No previous instructional experience necessary - we'll provide training Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, making complex techniques accessible to beginners Strong attention to detail and a passion for working with glass Ability to work with a diverse range of participants, from absolute beginners to more experienced artists Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays Ability to handle physical tasks such as standing for long periods and working with high temperatures
