This role is responsible for preparing tactile graphics, braille-ready files, and print materials using specialized software and production equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to producing high-quality accessible content in a production-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Modify and enhance graphics for tactile readability in tests, textbooks, and educational materials using graphic software, tactile graphics databases, and CorelDraw. Scan textbook covers, print diagrams, and other materials to create production-ready files for tactile and braille formats. Operate specialized tactile graphic production equipment, including folding, punching zinc plates, and related tooling processes. Prepare documents for braille books, magazines, and educational materials using high-speed scanning and typesetting software. Conduct quality control reviews to identify and correct scanning, formatting, and production errors while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with cross-functional production and graphics teams to support efficient and high-quality material development. Required Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency with graphic software applications, including the ability to successfully complete a computer skills assessment. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and basic knowledge of spelling and grammar. Ability to work effectively in a production-focused environment while managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines. Strong problem-solving, time management, and adaptability skills, with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn. Willingness to develop basic braille skills and support accessibility-focused workflows. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Note:
A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered when competency in the role is demonstrated. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Graphic Design or a related field; equivalent, verifiable experience may substitute for formal education. Experience using scanning equipment and graphic design software in a production environment. Familiarity with accessibility standards and tactile graphics production methods. Experience with graphic and production tools, including CorelDRAW, Adobe Acrobat, braille translation software, or related applications. Monday-Thursday:
7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Friday:
