Programs Manager/Artists Liaison Job Description This is a Full-time, Salaried Position.
Reports To :
Executive Director or Designee Position Summary The Programs Manager / Artist Liaison serves a dual role within the organization, acting as both a professional artist representative and a program management leader. This position fosters strong relationships between regional artists and the organization while overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of major arts programs and events. The successful candidate will be an active professional artist with a passion for artist development, community engagement, and arts administration. This role requires regular office hours, event attendance, and occasional evening and weekend commitments. Essential Responsibilities Programs Manager Oversee the organization's major programming commitments through strategic planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of events and initiatives.
Program Management Responsibilities include:
Lead advance planning and coordination for all assigned programs and events. Ensure effective collaboration among staff, contractors, artists, vendors, sponsors, and community partners. Oversee event logistics, contracts, and operational planning, including: Entertainers and performers Technical production needs Physical site logistics Décor and event aesthetics Security and safety coordination Vendors and artist markets Hands-on creative activities Life drawing sessions Community and creative partners Marketing and promotional coordination Ensure the organization's distinctive brand is evident throughout all programs and events. Ensure sponsor recognition and fulfillment obligations are met. Overseeing the invitation, and hosting of Political Leaders and VIPS Monitor timelines, budgets, and operational needs for assigned programs. Evaluate program outcomes and recommend improvements. Major Programs and Events Provide leadership and oversight for programs including, but not limited to: Events at Caddo Common Park Glow Fest events Poetry Out Loud Exhibit openings and receptions Artist talks and workshops Artist residencies Community arts programs and special initiatives Additional programs as assigned Event Support Assist with planning and execution of major organizational events, including: ArtBreak Christmas in the Sky Other large-scale community arts events as assigned Qualifications Professional practicing artist with demonstrated involvement in the arts community. Experience in program management, event planning, arts administration, or a related field preferred. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience working collaboratively with artists, community partners, sponsors, and stakeholders. Proficiency with email communication platforms, online submission systems, and standard office software. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Flexible schedule with availability for evenings and weekends as required. Working Conditions Regular office hours generally include Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Attendance at evening and weekend events, meetings, and programs is required. Occasional lifting, setup, and onsite event support may be necessary. Artist Liaison serves as an ambassador for the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) and is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to the organization's mission, values, and strategic goals. This position requires a high level of professionalism, integrity, and dedication to advancing SRAC's role as a leader in arts and culture throughout the region. The successful candidate will actively promote positive relationships between SRAC, artists, sponsors, community partners, and the public, while representing the organization in a manner that strengthens trust, collaboration, and support for SRAC's programs and initiatives.
Duties include:
Develop and distribute weekly email communications to artists and followers. Coordinate and support Artists Up↑ entrepreneurial training classes for artists. Write, distribute, and manage Calls to Artists, including application processes and communications. Schedule, prepare agendas for, and facilitate Roster Artist meetings. Oversee and administer the NWLA Culturalyst program, including training and support for participating artists. Manage and provide training for artists using Submittable and other application platforms. Schedule, prepare agendas for, and facilitate NWLA Artist Potluck meetings. Serve as a resource and advocate for regional artists. Perform other related duties as assigned.
