Devised Theatre Project Description:
What You'll Do Idle Hands Theatre collective is seeking a diverse group of performers for their uping Idle Fest. This is a week long devised theatre festival culminating in a two show performance Saturday August 29th. If chosen you will be put together with a group of performers from other mediums (For example one group might be a singer, a spoken word artist, and break dancer) to create a new piece in one week. If you are a performer of any kind we encourage you to submit an audition.

 The Cambridge Foundry
  • 101 Rogers St, Cambridge, MA 02142
Event Dates:
  • Saturday, August 22nd: Orientation (Location TBD)
  • Tuesday, August 25th
  • 28th : Rehearsal & Development
  • Saturday, August 29th: 2pm and 7pm Shows
  • While out of town performers are wee to submit, please understand that we are not able to offer artist housing at this time.
  • You'll have access to:
  • Rehearsal space at The Cambridge Foundry for all three days of rehearsal.
  • Feedback from curated guest artists.
  • A grab-bag of d materials brought by participating performers (and you!
)
Rehearsal Details & Description:
  • Teams will be announced at a pre-festival orientation (August 22nd), w you will meet your groups in person for the first time, and begin collaboration! (Orientation location TBD)
  • Tuesday
Thursday:
Rehearsals + Development (each group is given a specific rehearsal time slot, but you are wee toe in the room at any time). You are not required to be present for the full three days, just your group slot.
Rehearsal Time Slots:
10am
  • 2pm, Tuesday 8/25 2pm
  • 6pm, Tuesday 8/25 2pm
  • 4pm, Wednesday 8/26 4pm
  • 8pm, Wednesday 8/26 10am
  • 3pm, Thursday 8/27 3pm
  • 8pm, Thursday 8/28
Compensation:
All artists will receive:
  • Footage and photos of your performance
  • Revenue from the shows (may exceed $50) Please submit a video of yourself performing, a favorite piece or clips, and any photos you'd like to !
