Artistic Director/Conductor Assabet Valley Mastersingers Shrewsbury, MA Job Details Part-time | Contract $14,000 - $18,000 a year 17 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Management Music Education Choral group performance experience Art direction Full Job Description Artistic Director — Assabet Valley Mastersingers MetroWest/Central Massachusetts | Part-time, Contractor The Assabet Valley Mastersingers (AVM), a respected community chorus with a 49-year tradition of choral-orchestral performance in suburban Massachusetts, seeks an Artistic Director to lead the organization into its next chapter. The Role The AD provides full artistic leadership of AVM's chorus, soloists, and orchestra — selecting repertoire, leading rehearsals and concerts, shaping the season, and serving as the public artistic voice of the organization. The AD works in close collaboration with the General Manager and reports to the Executive Board. We are Looking For
- Proven choral conductor with experience in large-scale choral-orchestral repertoire
- Strong rehearsal technique and the ability to inspire a committed volunteer ensemble
- An artistic vision that honors AVM's legacy while embracing new possibilities
- Collaborative instincts and comfort working within a nonprofit governance structure
- Reliable access to the Boston MetroWest/Central Mass
- Able to take over in the Summer of 2027 Advanced degree in choral conducting or music education preferred.
