Job Description

As a Visual Display Artist / Builder/ Installer at EJS Design, you will play a crucial role in our creative retail visual display and event production services. You will be part of a team that designs, builds, and installs specialty decor and products for retail settings, public spaces, and large-scale event. Join us in creating unforgettable experiences through innovative design solutions. This candidate must have experience in the theater arts, retail visual display, holiday decorating, or related creative arts. We are currently recruiting new team members for our summer projects schedule through our Holiday installation season (October through December)
Responsibilities:
Work on detailed, small and large-scale installations alongside a team, with a focus on retail, public space, and special events spaces. High level of craftsmanship and ability to create and install two-dimensional and three-dimensional works. Working with your hands, to create and make props, scenic pieces, and décor elements. Install and remove seasonal/holiday displays at client locations throughout NE Ohio. Fluffing and shaping Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands, and assembling ornaments into garlands. Uphold a positive attitude and ability to work with others as a part of a team. Keen awareness of safety standards, details, and aesthetics on any project site. Adapt and thrive in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment. Follow instructions, established procedures, and timelines. Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Maintain a clean shop and production space, and installation/project site.
Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a creative field. Ability to provide a portfolio. Strong sense of aesthetics and attention to detail. Must possess a vast artistic and craftsman skill set and experience working with multiple materials and techniques. (Painting, carpentry, prop making, sculpture, etc.) Working knowledge of power tools & supplies (including but not limited to screw guns, circular saw, miter/chop saw, jig saws, fasteners). Ability to work independently and collaboratively Knowledge of best shop practices, safety standards, and cleanliness throughout all project tasks. Comfortable working on ladders 6ft-20ft tall. Availability for Mon•Fri shift (9am•5pm) Availability for some night shifts (typically no later than 11 pm to 1 am), some weekends, and openness to shifts exceeding 10 hours (these are rare but sometimes required). Prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
